Position: Chief Engineer Employment Type: Full-Time Start Date: Mid- October 2026 Location: Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA Vessel: Private Motor Yacht Flag: Jamaica Vessel Size: 111'–144' (34–44 meters) Certification: Y3 Salary: DOE (Depending on Experience) Visa/Work Authorization: B1, U.S. Passport, or Green Card Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and professional Chief Engineer to join a well-run private motor yacht on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will hold a Y3 Engineer qualification and have strong hands-on engineering experience on yachts of a similar size. The ideal candidate will be reliable, organized, proactive, and capable of maintaining a high standard of engineering operations aboard a private vessel. Requirements Valid Y3 Engineer certification Valid STCW and seafarer medical certification Previous Chief Engineer experience on yachts of a similar size preferred Strong mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge Excellent preventative maintenance and troubleshooting skills Organized and capable of maintaining accurate engineering records and planned maintenance systems Professional attitude with strong attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a professional crew Must hold a B1 visa, U.S. Passport, or Green Card Strong English communication skills A Y3 qualification is appropriate for Chief Engineer duties on yachts under 500 GT and under 3,000 kW propulsion power. Itinerary The yacht is expected to spend the BVI season from mid-November through the season, including an Owner's trip, before returning to Fort Lauderdale.
