House Manager - Seattle, WA POSITION OVERVIEW: We are seeking an experienced House Manager to oversee and maintain the Primary Residence(s) of a busy couple and their two-family dogs. The ideal candidate will be proactive, attentive to the needs of the family, and adhere to established checklists and protocols. This role demands a high level of professionalism, discretion, and the ability to handle all tasks efficiently and independently. KEY SKILLS: Organizational Excellence: Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and adapt to shifting priorities. Attention to Detail: Knowledge of proper care for high-end clothing, accessories, soft goods, furniture, silver, crystal, etc. Administrative Competence: Basic computer skills and the ability to handle routine administrative tasks. Culinary Skills: Ability to plan meals, grocery shop, prepare meals, and maintain household food inventory. Project Management: Experience planning and executing household projects to ensure the continued organization of the home. Dog Care: Must be comfortable with dogs and capable of handling their care needs. Problem-Solving: Capable of troubleshooting, resolving issues, and driving solutions. DESIRED CHARACTER TRAITS: Trustworthiness & Reliability: Must be dependable and able to always maintain confidentiality. Self-Motivated: Capable of working independently while also being a collaborative team player with other household staff and vendors. Discretion & Professionalism: Must maintain a high level of professionalism in all interactions, with the ability to engage politely while respecting privacy. Pride in Ownership: The candidate should take ownership of the property and home as if it were their own, ensuring its upkeep and smooth operation. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Daily Home Management: Conduct daily walkthroughs of the house and complete tasks according to established checklists for daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal needs. Light Housekeeping & Staff Supervision: Perform light housekeeping and oversee the performance of additional housekeeping staff on a weekly basis. Meal Planning & Preparation: Manage meal planning, grocery shopping, meal prep, and service, while maintaining the organization of the fridge, freezer, and pantry. Medication & Supplement Management: Oversee the inventory, tracking, and refills of medications and supplements for the family and pets. Pet Care: Provide daily care for the dogs, including walks, feeding, medication management (using a MAR sheet), and maintaining their living spaces. Wardrobe & Linen Care: Manage the care of the family's wardrobe, linens, and oversee dry cleaning and on-site laundry. Home Maintenance: Monitor and care for the furniture, decor, and interior items, ensuring everything is well-maintained. Event & Guest Management: Assist with event setup, including formal dinners and small gatherings, and receive guests for personal or business meetings. Package & Invoice Handling: Receive packages, file invoices, and ensure items are properly delegated. Appliance Maintenance: Perform basic cleaning and maintenance on small appliances like washers, dryers, and dishwashers. Gift Wrapping: Assist with gift wrapping for special occasions. Inventory Management: Keep stock of consumables, toiletries, and supplements, ensuring timely replenishment. Issue Management: Note and report any damage or issues around the house and take the initiative to resolve them. Ongoing Projects: Drive household organization projects and deep cleaning efforts. Vendor Coordination: Schedule and oversee the work of external vendors as needed. Proactive Service: Stay attuned to the needs of the family and proactively address them. Seasonal Transitions: Oversee the transition of decor and linens with each season. Travel Prep: Prepare for and assist with the family's travel, including packing for the family and dogs, following checklists, and unpacking upon return. Property Security: Ensure that all security protocols are followed to protect the home and its residents. Travel with Family: Occasionally travel out of state with the family to other residences in California and Montana.
