I am looking for a First Officer/Chief Mate. This is a Permanent position. This job starts ASAP. The position is in Ft Lauderdale, FL, USA. About Us The yacht is a 123’ steel hull, aluminum superstructure powered by two 920 H.P 12-cylinder Caterpillar engines and two 105 K.W. Caterpillar generators. It has 10,200-gallon diesel fuel capacity, a range of 4,000 miles, and a top speed of 17 knots. The pilot house is equipped with two radars and depth sounders, a Gyro compass, two chart plotters, auto pilot, VHF radios, and HDTV. Stationed on the boat deck is the fly bridge with dual controls and two 21’ Boston Whalers launches. The 30’ Salon is located on the maid deck and leads out to an enclosed aft deck and fishing cockpit. Forward of the Salon is a bar, a complete galley with dishwasher and freezer, and a large, formal dining room. Guest accommodations, include four owner staterooms, seven complete baths and powder room. Below deck are the crews quarters which included three cabins and a separate galley with dishwasher. About the position: Job Responsibilities • Assisting captain with administrative and safety duties • Management of deck crew and maintaining crew discipline • Arrange regular safety drills • Setting watch schedules • Maintenance and inventory of deck equipment • Stowage of yacht for sea travel • Navigation • Adhering to budget • Continued education and licensing test Required Skills • Ability to stand in for captain in his absence • Ability to delegate, effective communicator, organized, diplomatic and versatile • Boat handling, watch keeping and navigational skills • Extensive maintenance knowledge and skills; cleaning, rust/corrosion, painting, varnishing, rope splicing, fiberglass, carpentry, outboard motors and maintenance product knowledge • Basic engineering knowledge • Advanced knowledge of water sports • Computer skills • Licensing Ability to be discreet
