Description
I am looking for a Captain. This is a Full-Time position. This job starts ASAP. The position is in Seattle, WA, USA. Candidate must have one of the given visa(s): US Passport/GreenCard. The salary for this opportunity depends on experience. This is a United States of America flagged charter and private vessel that is 111' to 144' (34 to 44 meters) in length.
Here are the qualifications needed for this job opening: 500 Ton USCG.
This is the likely itinerary for this vessel: West Coast - Mexico - Pacific Northwest - Alaska. Newly Launched 2025 120 ft cockpit motor yacht - West Coast Captain Needed for US Flagged Vessel for Private - some light charters. Non-smoker. Requirements - 500 TON USCG License plus 3 years experience on 95 ft yachts or greater - as Master Or Mate. Current Passport. Service and Maintenance - experienced needed for basic services and troubleshooting, plumbing, and systems. CAT, ABT, Headhunter, Dometic, Garmin, Simrad auto, Yacht Controller. Uncomplicated vessel by design. This is a low key program - not the Florida heavy schedule nor formality. Standards are high for keeping both the vessel and your own areas to yacht standards, being professional, working with you crew to guide, train, mentor, and get the best out of of each other. This job requires an active captain, one who pitches in and shares the effort with the team. This is not a job for sitting in the wheelhouse. Schedule includes great destinations which the experienced owner has done before - Ensenada, La Pax, Loretto, Puerto Vallarta, Barre Navidad for the winter season - turtles hatching on beaches, light fishing, anchoring, Sea of Cortes wildlife, and beaches and townships. Spring and Summer schedule is Seattle, Victoria, San Juan and Canadian Gulf Islands - whales, waterfalls, city scapes, remote anchorages in some amazing spots. Then up to Alaska and the Inside Passage - Ketchikan, Sitka, Juneau - glaciers, humpbacks, bears, salmon fishing, halibut, and 10,000 year old glacier ice in your cocktails - get your holiday card photos standing on an ice berg (carefully). San Francisco for Fleet Week, then San Diego in October before heading back down to Mexico. This job is for an ACTIVE captain who has both the experience to start and looking to get a chance to cruise some of the worlds most interesting places. A younger skipper is welcome. The current Build Captain- PM will support and assist as needed during commissioning and repositioning trips, as well as assist with service if needed. Owner is ok with a newer 500 ton captain, willing to assist growing into the position, learn West Coast cruising. Owners and light charter use - Owners are low service themselves, but do have high interior and exterior standards. Any charters will be generally pre-selected so the boat doesn't get beat up, and only older kids, if any. As a new boat the owners would like to offer select charters that will keep the vessel in good shape. Crew size is 3 when just owners aboard, who tend to take care of themselves and often cook for everyone. They are informal and don’t need lots of crew as they tend to be self-sufficient and low service themselves. They just want a very clean and tidy vessel. For charters they will add a chef and possible additional deck/stew if needed. The boat will have an 18 ft tender and 1 Sea Doo, few toys and crew effort both on set-up and break down - plus less service and maintenance. Any repositioning movements will have full complement of competent additional watch keepers and relief captain as needed. Weather determines all big movements - we stress safety and good conditions for major trips - which owners do not partake. Captain will need engineering basics for this uncomplicated engine and generator package - CATS. Oil changes, basic troubleshooting, etc. Displacement vessel - does 12 kts at 30 gph, so has great range. Aluminum hull, bulbous bow, ABT Zero-Speed stabilizers, bow and stern thrusters, Yacht Controller. This is a nimble and responsive boat in tight docking conditions. Low use of teak - Owners Deck, Aft Deck, Cockpit. Cap rails are a hybrid teak-with-backer - and film coated for low scratch-maintenance, and covers. 4 staterooms, Captains, and 2 Crew Aft. Vessel is in commissioning and has done nicely with a couple of shakedown trips. Excellent coffee maker.
